MRI of fetus will be done in second and third trimester of pregnancy
.We Allow to use of MRI in pregnancy in second and third trimester.
- It migh be harmful for fetus first trimester and allow interavenous contrast study in fetal MRI is contraindictated although not useful in this study.
- Placenta previa , placenta accreta ,placenta hemorrhagia or hematoma.
Oligoamnius or hydroaminius are detected in standard study of fetal MRI
the detection of congenital deformity and delay of growth (IUGR ) which named equele to disease are in goal of our study .
Brain study in MRI:
- CNS (brain and spine)
- Abdominal & pelvic
Hydrocephalus – Agenesis of corpus callousum.
Atrophy, Hypoxemia, cyst, tumor, chiari malformation –Dandy walker cyst .
Leukoencephalopathy .tumor (Meduloblastoma , papilloma, glioma , ependymoma) .Colloid cyst, germionoma, Dermoid, epidermoid .
Lissencephaly , Schisencephaly ,holoporozencephaly .
In all of fetal brain MRI :
Sequences are based or (Fiesta ,SPARE -SS-TSE T2 , FSE T2 , DWI and T1 FLAIR ). in metabolic disorder , MR spectroscopy is indicated in these cases.
Functional MRI or BOLD (Blood oxygen level dependent)
MRI was applied.
In the one of medical imaging center belong of Iran rare disease foundation we started of use of fetal MRI in suspicious by ultrasonography (2D ,3D and 4D )
