Getting started the establishment of another branch for Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran in Golestan Province
During his trip to Golestan, Dr. Ali Davoudian has visited the head of Medical Sciences University and negotiated in order to establish a branch for Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran in Golestan province.
There was a meeting between Dr. Ali Davoudian, Managing Director of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, Dr. Fazel, Head of the Medical Sciences University of Golestan and Dr. Akbari, Head of Red Cresent for Mazandaran.
At the meeting, Dr. Ali Davoudian meanwhile mentioning existing defects in the social field and also a deficiency in scientific community awareness, he said:” NGOs has become more visible in these recent years.”
He added:” Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran tends to sign a memorandum of understanding in order to establish a laboratory and diagnosis center for identifying rare disease patients in Golestan province.”
Dr. Davoudian also noted that although 58 kinds of Rare Diseases have been identified, most of the patients in different part of the country haven’t been detected yet because of unawareness of the society and authorities about Rare Diseases. He continued:” Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran is willing to collaborate with Medical Sciences University of Golestan on research projects.”
At the end, Dr. Fazel, head of Medical Sciences University in Golestan province, welcomed Dr. Davoudian again and said:”Organising the foundation and a center for diagnosing is a very important issue.”
