“We entered international arena with the slogan of “Rare Disease Patient without Border” to communicate developed research organizations and large pharmaceutical companies, in order to convince their presidents to cooperate in transferring medicine and treatment for Rare Disease Patients.” Says Dr. Davoudian.
The achievements of Barcelona meeting:
The 25th Eurordis Round Table Companies workshop, the most important meeting of European pharmaceutical companies and Rare Diseases Associations was formed to regulate the issue of drug production in the European Union.
The presence of Iranian representatives, Mr. Yann Le Cam speech focusing on introducing Dr. Davoudian to pharmaceutical companies and appreciation of the actions taken as NGO by Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, highlights the importance and usefulness of these international connections.
Dr. Davoudian says about the achievements of Barcelona meeting: “After the speech by Mr. Yann Le Cam and the end of the meeting, some of the pharmaceutical companies and research teams on Rare Diseases contacted us and entered into negotiations. One of them is Shire PLC (the British company); we will negotiate them on our future agenda.
The countries of the Eco-region with 330 million populations have several types of Rare Diseases; due to the cultural and ethnic diversity have the potential for scientific and pharmaceutical research. Hence, pharmaceutical companies and research teams should not ignore them.
Dr. Davoudian says that we are at the beginning and our up-coming trips will definitely have more significant achievements to help patients.
