Launching a pilot plan for RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) Patients in the Western Region of the country with the help of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran
The office of the Foundation for Rare Diseases in Kermanshah Province was inaugurated on Saturday, October 7, by the presence of the Managing Director of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran and a delegation from the foundation, Head of Awqaf and Charity Affairs organization and a group of righteous from Kermanshah province.
The foundation office will be headed by Dr. Hamid Ariaee Tabar, a specialist in ophthalmology and researcher for RP.
Dr. Ali Davoudian, the founder of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, said: “Rare disease has been a hidden concern of our society, and we have been at the Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran for 12 years with the aim of researching, organizing associations, providing diagnostic and medical services to Rare Diseases patients.”
He added: “Our main mission is to create an office in 31 provinces of the country. We were able to establish the fifth foundation office in Kermanshah province with the assistance of Dr. Ariaee Tabar and benevolent authorities.”
According to Dr. AriaeeTabar, Head of the Kermanshah Foundation, the RP Disease Pilot Project will be launched with the establishment of this office in Kermanshah province.
He added: “Our goal is to identify and treat patients with this genetic and rare disease in order to have a normal and acceptable life without any need for others.”
