Arrival of EURODIS delegation in Tehran on July 25th 2016
According to the Department for Public Relations of the Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, in order to find out about therapeutic and research achievements made by the Foundation, EURODIS delegation arrived in Iran on July 25th 2016. Explaining on this visit, Dr. Ali Davoudian, Managing Director of the Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, stated that out of the major purposes behind the visit of the EURODIS delegation we need to refer to exchange views on different relevant issues as well as information and experiences of the two sides’ units that are rendering supportive and research services and to become familiarized with the achievements made by Iranian scientists in dealing with and treatment of rare diseases.
Other purposes included promotion of quality of the relevant units and centers based on international standards and paying visit to the Foundations’ research and therapeutic centers.
On the programs prepared for this six day visit Mr. Davoudian referred to organization of scientific meetings and exchange of experiences and holding meetings between the EURODIS delegation and Iranian authorities who are in charge of the health sector as well as a meeting between the EURIDIS delegation and families of the affected individuals and also visits to different Iranian cities for becoming familiarized with Iranian and Islamic culture and customs.
Managing Director of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran added that scientific and research outcome resulting from these talks and exchange of experiences will be sent to domestic and international centers in order for them to be used by researchers in and outside Iran. He also said that within the same respect by the assistance of the Foundation as well as a number of Iranian research and academic centers a book titled “Voice of 12000 Rare Disease Patients” has been prepared and published that is considered as the first reliable reference in immediate diagnosis of rare diseases and their symptoms.
