The first center for diagnosis one specific type of cancer was established in the country. The Executive Director of the Nuclear Medicine Imaging Center project informed about the inauguration of the specialized medical center after Ramadan.
Babak Yousefi, the Executive Director of Imaging Center Project (PET) noticed :”This is the first Nuclear Medicine imaging center in Iran”, he said: “The imaging center opens after Ramadan and patients with cancer can visit the center to use the facilities.”
Payam medical imaging center is the first phase of the specialized hospital for cancer treatment. The nuclear medical center is the first comprehensive center for women with cancer by 200 beds and 17000-meter width.
Diagnosis of breast cancer will be done for the fist time in the Middle East at Payam Nuclear Medical Imaging Center. However, the devices used for total parts of the body are the fourth one using in the country.
This center has capacity for accepting 30 patients affected by breast cancer and 30 people suffering from other types of cancer. According to Babak Yousefi, developing such centers for providing nuclear medical services can promote medical tourism inside and outside the country.
Eng. Hamed Asghari, the Managing Director of Abzar Teb Aseman, while accompanying Dr. Ali Davoudian, The managing Director of Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran, visiting this center explained about equipping the center and importing devices and instruments, he also noted: ”The devices comprise a full chain of nuclear medicine.”
