Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran in cooperation with Tehran Municipality Health Department carried out free charge of high blood pressure medical check-ups and screening at Musa Ibn Jafar (pbuh) Mosque in Tehran.
The Foundation in cooperation with district 6 of section 2 of the Cultural and Social Department of Tehran Municipality did the charitable work at the above-mentioned Mosque for checking up the health situation of people of Tehran.
On this charitable work done on the Ten Days of Keramat occasion , Marjan Tamimi, expert from the Tehran Municipality Health Department said that Tehran Municipality usually implement such programs on different religious and national events for preventing diseases and raising awareness of the citizens of Tehran on them.
Ms. Tamimi added: “We intend to raise awareness of people on threats facing their health”. She also said: “The health program taken place on the Ten Days of Keramat occasion is done in all mosques and councils of Tehran districts and quite a number of people welcome such moves because they do not have to pay for the services”.
In continuation, Dr. Hossein Najmi, the psychiatrist and specialized in the mental disorder diseases of the Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran explaining on the charitable activities of the Foundation said: “We have been participating in in different NGOs’ health programs and have rendered our diagnostic and therapeutic services to the patients without receiving anything in return. Also by attending different mosques like Sarollah Mosque, we have tried to raise awareness of people on medical, therapeutic and health issues in a simple language”.
It is to be mentioned that Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran has already been involved in such programs like “Ramadan Healing Prescriptions” that was implemented in a wide area through Imamzadeh Saleh Mosque and currently it is implementing the “Free of Charge Women Health Package” for those women who are working in the executive departments within the country.
